This morning I informed The Swedelock that becoming a three-year-old is like being on drugs. I hear The Child talking to himself, stringing together sentences like, “The purple turtle house is big because the gas is four sixty-thousand.” Then he chuckles over his own private joke. His brain is just crazy right now. I can’t imagine what it’s like in there. But maybe I can.
I find odd structures built in corners of the house. The Child believes pajamas are an important part of his power. He can not stop moving. Eats three sandwiches for lunch one day, then only consumes three pretzels over the next 24 hours. He has inexplicable bruises everywhere.
Does this describe warning signs of stimulant abuse or warning signs of childhood?
hyperactivity; euphoria; irritability; anxiety; excessive talking followed by depression or excessive sleeping at odd times; may go long periods of time without eating or sleeping
Send help. We might have a meth addict in the house.
Great post!
Sounds normal to me…
Ha! You’d know verrrrry well the strange normal behaviors of small people.
