Quotes From The Child

In the past week, The Child has shared quite a few gems.

“Reading” to himself:

I get sick sometimes. But I’m just a D, and I do all sorts of crazy things. A little boy plays with trains. And he reads books. It’s called ‘Rain Bye-Bye.’ And he opened the shade, and said, ‘Dear me! I was just playing with my trains.’ Close the shade all the way. The End.

Eloquent stall tactics, nearly an hour after bed time:

If it’s all the same to you, I just would like to pee.

When asked why he is upset at bed time:

Sometimes you’re upset because you want someone. Someone to come.

After an intergalactic meltdown, caused by lack of sleep:

Me: Would you like lunch now, or would you like to play in your room quietly for ten minutes?

Him: The thing to do right now is not anything of those things.

Eating cereal silently, he suddenly states:

And one time we saw a reflection of ourselves from the inside.
